I was wrong about links in comment tags

I had originally posted that you could get an inbound link from this blog by posting to the comments area - and including your URL - I even created a page to show you how.

Though the "comment tag - no follow" plea by Google doesn't make it impossible - the fact is, that Blogger uses a "REDIRECT" on the URLs in the comment tags.

This means that the comment tags go through a redirect and so the link power to your URL is lost.

This is a dumb and jerky thing for Google/Blogger to do - but that is the way it is.

I thank the reader who educated me on this - and apologize profoundly to the people I misled because I was ill-informed.

Live and learn!

I was delighted to encounter your mention about "links in comment tags" on Blogger. I have been trying to get both Links in the text of a blog-entry and Comments to work, but have only added to my problems. I tried to figure out HTML instructions and seem to have messed my work up badly. Is there a really up-to-date websource or printed book that could help me unravel my HTML mess and get my blog working correctly?

I want to get this stuff in order before I invite the Google spiders in to deep crawl my blog. Likewise, I also have a long-time coming Website that I'd like to integrate in the manner you have outlined. - Owlb

So .. in other words ..
We get no use from posting links like:

The Remember ZoneMy New BlogBut what if we just use just text?

Like:

http://therememberzone.com/

http://therememberzone.com/v-web/b2/index.php

Will the text ever be picked up and used to our advantage?

Noticed in my comment that things got run together in one spot although the input was totally the same for entire text.

Something I've noticed happens sometimes on my new blog that I just started.

Any idea why?

Rick,

Thanks so much for the great video tutorials on the Blog and Ping method. I love the easy to follow videos in learning how to implement these methods myself. I was able to create my own Blogger account and get my first post up in less than 10 minutes.

Excellent job amigo!
God bless and much SUCCESS!

But we can also turn these blog comments into online marketing. Ask me how? Many webmaster has realized now that these kind of link building is not supported by search engines at all so they have planned to use these blogs in new way and that is new kind of traffic generating techniques. You can submit your links with the comments. Yes, due to "No follow" tag, your website will not be indexed or crawled by search engine but you can direct your visitor to your website if you have really informative and related comments in blogs.
